Stussy, SF

STUSSY

Back in the day was definitely was not a huge fan of Stussy.  My whole view on Stussy was that it was just some washed out surf brand, and finding Stussy tee’s at Ross and Marshall’s back in the day didn’t help.  Now i’ve grown up and seen the true beauty of that which is Stussy, and it took a trip to SF to see that.  When I started frequenting the bay about four years back, Stussy SF blew my mind and completely reinvented my perception of them.  Hat’s, tee’s, backpack’s, sunglasses, kick’s, they had it all, and not just Stussy!  Four years back at Stussy SF I was first introduced to Imaginary Foundation, which to this day is still one of my favorite and most respected brands.  They also carry a ton of Nike gear, from Dunks to this one red Nike backpack i’ve still yet to identify and regret not buying when I had the chance.  Beyond the gear, Stussy always has a great art work and store front layout, and if it weren’t for Stussy and other boutiques up north chances are Ross and Marshall’s would still be selling Stussy.  Instead, now we have Stussy, LA; the OG joint is still always better though.

Skaters haven @ FTC, SF

Need a new deck? Bearings? Wheels? All your skate needs in a fresh boutique shop, and you only have to brave a bunch of hills to get there; hey the downhill ride looks fun though.  FTC is dope and that’s all there really is to it.  The staff is knowledgeable, and FTC has for a long time had the reputation of being the shop real skaters visit.  I don’t skate, but beyond the skate shop they carry a bunch of  dope brands like Stussy, Diamond, Nike, and Addidas.  They always have a few surprises like the pair of Adidas x Slap collabo kicks my boy Al was cool enough to point out.  Another limited edition I missed out on.  To be honest FTC has never been a store i’ve spent much time in but skating just hasn’t been important to me.. i’d rather be out shooting skaters than kickin it at a shop listening to how they could be better doper faster.  FTC for all your skate needs, and to snag some of those limited editions if you’re lucky.

True love for TRUE, SF

Posted on 14 September 2009 by Allen Chu

www.trueclothing.net

Haight St., SF – By far one of my favorite street wear stores, TRUE is a stop I have to make anytime i’m in the bay area.  TRUE always carries some of the freshest house brand tee’s along with brands such like Upper Playground, Triumvir, Soul Rebel, FreshJive, 10 Deep, and Stussy; every once in a while you might luck out and even find some De La Soul or ATCQ tees.  The one thing I always found to be weird about TRUE is they have TRUE Women’s and TRUE Sole as seperate stores, but I guess that’s the price you pay to be located on Haight St.  Prices are typical boutique numbers but TRUE has been known to throw some ridiculous sales blowing out swag at over 50% off, so make sure to check out their blog for updates.  If you’re ever in the area TRUE is definitely worth the stop even if it’s just to pick up on of their infamous mixtapes, browse, or just enjoy the vibe and listen to some good hip-hop.
